I was invited by Nick Bryan-Kinns, Professor of Creative Computing at the Creative Computing Institute at University of the Arts London, to share my journey from completing a PhD in Conversational AI to becoming a venture scientist and entrepreneur. This talk explored how academic research can be transformed into real-world AI products that revolutionize learning and workplace development.
The session focused on the intersection of human-centric AI design, entrepreneurship, and innovation in the learning technology space. I shared insights from founding Nanu, discussing how rigorous academic research in natural language processing and dialogue systems can be translated into practical, patent-pending AI solutions that upskill leaders and teams in the flow of work.
This engagement provided students and faculty at the Creative Computing Institute with a roadmap for bridging the gap between academic research and commercial innovation, emphasizing the importance of user-centered design, scientific validation, and entrepreneurial thinking in creating impactful AI technologies that serve real human needs in professional development and learning contexts.
